I guess I should be glad I've gone this long without needing visual assistance. Both my parents need glasses and one of my brothers does.

Somehow I managed to trip and fall down the rabbit hole that is #Lean4 and I'm finding the descent down said rabbit hold really fascinating... This probably means I'm hopelessly addicted to type theory and will soon be incapable of producing good practical software but oh well.

Sometimes I think about how our current cultural context is incapable of electing someone who isn't either either Biden or Trump. Even though many of the individuals composing that specific cultural context have significant reservations about both of them.

It's a massive collective action problem. All of those individuals could vote third party and abandon the two main parties but they won't because they are afraid too many people won't join them and whichever of the candidates they consider worse will get elected.

So we are just stuck.

I don't know people can go through life without a solid community. I'm a christian so almost anywhere I go I have a built-in community that has my back whatever my life situation is. I've literally never moved ,or lived anywhere, where that community didn't exist locally. Day 1 in any place I've had a support network that I could rely on. I've been that support network for other people in the same community. Without it I wouldn't be where I am today.

I am slowly becoming convinced that Nix is the only tool that actually takes IaC seriously. Everything else is either hideously complicated for the simplest things (k8s) or a piecemeal hodgepodge of things that don't interoperate.
